Blue Mountain Community Church's Prison Ministry
Our Vision
To visit those in prison according to Hebrews 13:3
Our Mission
To help inmates know the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ; who will then share this GOOD NEWS with others. John3:1
Our Prison Ministry serves the Nesquehoning Correctional Facility every month with church services, Bible teaching and counseling. Our goal as a team is to share the GOOD NEWS that Jesus Christ will forgive them of their mistakes, and that He can bring them out of the prison as an asset to their family and community instead of a liability.
Many prisoners lives are being changed; we thank God for your encouragement and prayers that help us carry this life-changing message into the prison.
Any one interested in more information concerning this ministry, please contact Anita Wisler at 1-610-377-5395, Email: bugsbuny@ptd.net, or call the church at 1-610-826-8402.

Why Go To The Prison??????
In Hebrews 13:3-4, we are told to go into the prisons and feel what the prisoners are feeling. In obedience to God's Word, we go to the prison to share the love and forgiveness of Christ When we truly are sorry for our mistakes and repent, God is faithful to forgive us.
What are some of the feelings of inmates while in prison?
- Loneliness is a big part of a prisoner's life while in prison. The inmate tries to mask himself in the day time by keeping busy, but as one prisoner said, "Come night time all men cry!"
- Anger is another feeling prisoners have to deal with while in prison. It is believed that rejection is a big source of most anger problems. They have been rejected by their best friends, family, loved ones, co-workers, and sometimes even their churches. Anger is not only a problem prisoners struggle with, but many in the world have the same struggles. At home it's called domestic violence, on the highway it's called road rage, and if we internalize it we end up depressed. This is why we offer anger management classes both in and out of prison. Many inmates struggle with being angry because they feel so cut off from the outside world when they are unable to communicate outside the prison walls. This is why we have those who are interested in writing letters keep in touch with notes and cards. They need to know they are not forgotten and that someone is willing to help give them another chance at life.
I'm sure there are many other struggles these inmates experience. The above-mentioned are just an example of some of the struggles we see on a regular basis. I hope this will give you a better understanding as to why we desire to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in the prison. He is the only one who can forgive, love, and heal all the hurts and things of the past as they are laid at His feet. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have passed away and lo and behold all things are fresh and new again! 2 Corinthians 5:17
