Blue Mountain Community Church In Mexico

Blue Mountain Community Church's missionaries to Mexico are Alfredo Alamos and his wife, Olga. Alfredo and Olga have four children. We met Alfredo on our first trip to Mexico in 1993. He was teaching in a Bible School near the U.S. border, but he had a burden to begin a church in central Mexico. Our hearts were knit together, and the members of Blue Mountain Community Church felt that we wanted to support him in this new work.

Matehuala is a town located in the "high sierra" region of central Mexio. It is very arid, and cattle and goat ranching are the primary means of earning wages.

Alfredo began the church in Matehuala during late 1993. Various members of Blue Mountain Community Church have been down to help him two times since his church was formed - 1995 and 1997. We are committed to sending a team to encourage Alfredo and to help him with the work at least every other year We try to bring Alfredo and Olga up to Blue Mountain Community Church during the alternate years so that they can be refreshed.

The church has grown from having no members in 1993 to having well over one hundred members today. We have helped them purchase property on which they have erected a church building.

In addition to the "home church" in Matehuala, the mission has also established churches that meet in three other “ranches” - small villages in the surrounding country side.

In 1999 Alfredo felt called to full time evangelistic ministry, and moved family north to Nuevo Laredo. He is now holding evangelistic services throughout Mexico.
